چکیده
We demonstrate, for the first time, an error-free, 320-Gb/s optical code division multiple access (O-CDMA) network testbed employing the spectral phase encoded time spreading (SPECTS) technique. Results with and without forward error correction (FEC) are presented. © 2006 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: (060.2330) Fiber optics communications; (999.9999) Optical code division multiple access

High performance 70Gbit=s SPECTS optical-CDMA network testbed
Introduction: Remarkable increases in the internet traffic have recently propelled upgrades in the wide-area and metropolitan-area networks employing advanced wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) and time-division-multiplexing (TDM) communication systems. Modern local-area networks (LANs) on the other hand, require less processing at the centre nodes but more flexible high-speed access at the...

Today’s cluster computers suffer from slow I/O, which slows down I/O-intensive applications. We show that fast disk I/O can be achieved by operating a parallel file system over fast networks such as Myrinet or Gigabit Ethernet. In this paper, we demonstrate how the ParaStation3 communication system helps speed-up the performance of parallel I/O on clusters using the open source parallel virtual...

We present ultrafast slotted optical time-division multiplexed networks as a viable means of implementing a highly capable next-generation all-optical packet-switched network. Such a network is capable of providing simple network management, the ability to support variable quality-of-service, self-routing of packets, scalability in the number of users, and the use of digital regeneration, buffe...

We demonstrate the feasibility of a 16 × 3.75 Gb/s (60 Gb/s aggregate) Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing-code division multiple access passive optical network for next-generation access applications. 3.75 Gb/s PON channel transmission over 25 km single-mode fiber shows 0.1 dB dispersion and 0.9 dB crosstalk penalties. Advantages of the system include high capacity, enhanced spectral ef...
